We are officially 5 days into summer 2023! Need some ideas for things to do on the island other than enjoying the pristine beaches? Below are 10 popular activities and places to visit on LBI.

1. Fantasy Island is a staple on LBI offering carnival rides, carousel, games, arcade, casual eats & ice cream. Located in the heart of Beach Haven, Fantasy Island is the perfect space for families looking to tire out their young ones.

2. Another great family activity is the Thundering Surf Waterpark which includes a multi-ride park, the “Flow House” which is a standing wave, and a large mini golf course.

3. Nature Trails! On the island you will be able to find a few nature walks and trails. I recommend visiting Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (adhere to signs where to walk), Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, and a few trails and beaches in High Bar Harbor. Reach out for more details.

4. Fishing Charters. The island has many fishing spots, a variety of fish & many boat charters to choose from. Reach out for a recommended list.

5. Learn to surf. Head to one of the island’s surf shops or surf schools to learn how to surf and cross it off of the bucket list! Popular locations for this include Wave Hog Surf Shop, LBI Surfing, and South End Surf n’ Paddle.

6. Paddle board & kayak tours/rentals. Explore Barnegat Bay, learn about the wildlife, and relax on the open water. 

7. Sailing lessons and sailboat rentals. Harvey Cedars Marina is an excellent location for lessons and rentals in an ideal location for both beginners and experienced sailors. The marina also offers paddleboard, kayak, and specialty watercraft rentals.
